The Field Associates is an auxiliary group of The Field Museum founded in 1999 to engage young professionals with the Museum through a series of engaging educational and social programs. The group hosts about five events annually for members and their guests at the Museum and at venues around Chicago. Events typically take place after work and feature a short presentation by a Museum representative along with a cocktail reception and opportunities for questions and discussions. Events are selected and managed by volunteers from the group who exercise their leadership, with the support of Museum staff, within three committees — Programming, Communications, and Membership*. The Field Associates welcomes any young adult with a passion for culture, science and exploration. With behind-the-scenes opportunities and special receptions, our organization aims to bring together those who share common interests and enjoy taking advantage of cultural outings in Chicago. Members of the Field Associates must maintain a basic Museum membership and pay group dues of $100 on an annual basis.
