The City Year Chicago Associate Board is a non-policy making, fundraising organization comprised of young professionals from Chicago for the purpose of supporting the mission and ideals of City Year Chicago. What is City Year? City Year is a national AmeriCorps youth service organization with close to 1,000 members serving at 16 sites throughout the United States and 1 location in South Africa. City Year’s mission is to build democracy through citizen service, civic leadership and social entrepreneurship. City Year’s citizen service vision is that citizens of all ages and backgrounds will unite to serve their community, nation and world, and that one day the most commonly asked question of an eighteen year-old will be: “Where are you going to do your service year?”
