The Associate Board of Literacy Chicago is a nonprofit group of young professionals from throughout Chicago who are dedicated to advancing their philanthropic interests in the community and literacy throughout Chicago. Attracting members from a variety of professional fields, Associate Board members vest their time and energy to support Literacy Chicago’s mission - to improve the literacy skills of Chicago-area adults learners and their families by improving their basic education, employability and life skills, including reading, writing, computation and English-language use. Literacy Chicago today is the largest not-for-profit provider of free, individualized adult education and literacy services in Illinois. From committee meetings to social events, there are many opportunities to be involved with the Associate Board.
