The Associate Board of NorthShore University HealthSystem is a fundraising organization of young professionals providing members with philanthropic, educational and community service programs to benefit NorthShore University HealthSystem and the community. (Evanston Northwestern Healthcare is now NorthShore University HealthSystem. Although our name has changed, our mission remains the same.) The Associate Board strives to provide opportunities for people with busy schedules to find fulfillment through charitable work with a preeminent healthcare organization and to network socially and professionally at various “after-five” events including service projects, social outings and fundraisers. These efforts work together to enhance NorthShore’s mission, “to preserve and improve human life.” Since its founding in 2003, The Associate Board’s volunteer efforts have directed more than $250,000 toward the Henrietta Louis Johnson Infant Special Care Unit at Evanston Hospital. Located in Chicago’s northern suburbs, NorthShore University HealthSystem is an academic health system affiliated with The University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. It has been named a Top 100 Hospital and a Top 15 Major Teaching Hospital for an unprecedented eleventh time and is one of only two hospitals in the nation to have consistently achieved this status. Additionally, it ranks ninth in the nation and first in Illinois in terms of National Institutes of Health research grant awarded.
